1. Where else can I get Sony Reader content other than the Sony Connect site?
Project Gutenberg has well over 10,000 titles in the public domain. Unfortunately, most of these don't read terribly well on the reader as they are either raw text or html files. The
manybooks.net site provides all of these titles "converted" to lrf (Sony Reader) format, but this is done blindly using automation and doesn't yield particularly better results than if you pasted the raw text.
2. I would love to see an edition of <fill in the blanks>
